Closet Cleansing 101

Do you have trouble getting dressed in the morning? Too many options. In reality, we all wear only about 1/3 of what is in our wardrobe. Do yourself a BIG favor, and de-clutter the stress out of your life with a quick seasonal closet cleanse. THE MORE YOU DO IT, the easier (and faster!) it gets. 

Closet Cleansing is an art. The art of deconstructing and re-constructing, of pushing past your mental and emotional baggage and simplifying your life. 

Here are a few basics 

 

Make three piles:

1. I Dont Wear It.

Rule of thumb: if you have not worn it in over a year, REPLACE 

Exception: Highly Seasonal Clothing (ex. Your Snowboard Jacket). 

Exception: You are recovering from a physical transition (ex. child birth, surgery, etc). 

 

2. I Need to Mend/Clean It. 

 

3. I Need to be Replace It. 

 

What if it has NOSTALGIC VALUE? 

Put it in a bin. Out of sight, out of mind. Reduce that clutter!! Be free.
